The invention of the groove putter has been a golfing revelation in the 21st century and now GEL Golf has taken groove technology a step further and improved it by introducing horizontal, precision-cut aluminium grooves to its putters to generate even better topspin roll. Biomechanical testing by Quintic, an independent equipment testing consultancy, has proved that GEL Groove putters outperform a number of top brands on the market (including Titleist, TaylorMade and PING) by producing greater grip with the golf ball at the moment of impact, therefore enhancing a putter’s ability to produce the desired topspin roll on the ball. Meaning, quite simply, that you hole more putts!

GEL‘s unique aluminium putter face insert, which is softer and more responsive than the stainless steel face inserts of other groove putters, and GEL’s larger, heavier and more balanced heads, encourage a smoother and more rhythmical putting stroke. Made with 431 stainless steel and a plated black nickel finish, the six models in the GEL range, namely the Jade, Diamond, Emerald, Ruby, Topaz and Opal are eye-catching putters that come with bright blue and yellow GEL Karakal for men and blue and pink for ladies. The face inserts are also coloured electric blue and pink respectively, making the putters look as great as they play.

Launched in 2007 at the PGA Golf Show in Orlando, GEL Golf is already celebrating its first pro Tour champion; American Bryan Saltus won the Johnnie Walker Cambodian Open in December last year with a GEL Topaz Putter. Asian Tour statistics show that Salts’ putting average prior to Cambodia had been 30.4 per round but using his GEL Putter, that average plummeted to an amazing 28.5 putts per round. Given the number of strokes that putting can add to a round of golf, the benefit a grooved putter can have on a player’s game is enormous as Saltus found out in Cambodia.

VELOCT Driver

The VELOCT Driver is constructed from 6/4 Titanium, a four-piece Forged construction, which incorporates a classic pear shape, visually appealing to the eye and one which also sets up beautifully behind the ball. The series incorporates Thin Crown Technology allowing weight to be repositioned in specific areas within the head creating a lower centre of gravity to assist a high launch angle with low spin. Precision is ensured through the use of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) technology to mill the club face delivering ultimate consistency. The total overall weight of the entire Driver is slightly over 300 grams, this incredibly lightweight design enables a higher club head speed with the minimum amount of effort.

VELOCT Fairway

The VELOCT Fairway is constructed from 17/4 Stainless Steel, a two-piece welded crown design which incorporates a classic pear shape following the same eye catching looks of the driver. The series incorporates Thin Crown Technology allowing weight to be repositioned in specific areas within the head creating a low centre of gravity to assist a high launch angle with low spin. In this fairway series the weight distribution has also been pre-set to favour a neutral to draw bias. Precision is ensured through the use of CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) technology to mill the club face delivering ultimate consistency. A major innovation, and design first is the introduction of MAX style lofts which provide the player with a greater range of options so assist in benefiting from the high launch angle/ low spin performance characteristics delivered by modern golf shaft and ball technology. MAX lofts have typically been available in drivers until now that is! Benross are the first to deliver this concept in fairway woods, players who struggle to get the ball airborne will now benefit from this and in addition to providing more flexibility to more powerful player.
